Recently we saw Samsung and Huawei releasing their foldable smartphones and now it looks like that Oppo is next to do so, as the vice president Brian Shen revealed the prototype for the new oppo foldable smartphone which has uncanny resemblance with Huawei Mate X especially with this hinge design and also that camera strip on the back when folded which was also recently released at a pre-MWC conference in Barcelona on Sunday. As many will be waiting for the release of this phone but for now, nothing has been revealed about the release date or any key specification for this new prototype. From the pictures, we can see it has the same form factor as that of Samsung Galaxy fold which was released last week.
From the prototype images uploaded by Shen on Weibo it has dual screen experience when folded and single screen when unfolded which seems similar to Huawei Mate X which has an 8-inch display when unfolded. It appears to have a thicker bar with oppo branding with an integrated camera module.
It is quite early to comment on the prices of the new oppo foldable smartphone. But if we compare it with Samsung and Huawei we can expect it to be roughly Rs. 2,09,400 to Rs. 1,41,000. It is quite expensive compared to the phones we have seen so far by oppo.
